Atlantic Rim

 Atlantic Rim—color, 2013. MST3K 1202

 Funnier than Mac n Me, I guess. Basically a modern day Godzilla type movie.  Except really really dumb American people, instead of Asian people. But it’s pretty funny. Big action scene is a guy hitting a doorknob with a hammer. These characters are so hateable. (I’ve never seen Pacific Rim, BTW) This starts on an oil rig in the Atlantic Ocean. Everyone is mad at everyone else, then a monster destroys the rig.

Now it’s Mardi Gras in New Orleans, which is not in the Atlantic Ocean or especially near the Atlantic Ocean. But I guess the Gulf of Mexico is the same thing as the Atlantic Ocean in this movie. BTW -- Swamp Diamonds—-a much better movie and more fun episode of mst——also starts in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Not sure where to rank this. The whole season is lesser than the previous one.  There are no likable characters in this movie.  

Rewatch—-25mins in.  This movie is so bad. Hate these characters.  Had to stop. Movie and characters too insufferable.  Riffing wasn’t great either.  Season 12 "The Gauntlet" is, in general, not good.
