The Brain That Wouldn't Die

The Brain That Wouldn’t Die  (MST513 1950s b/w.)  Mikes first one.  I used to confuse it with Tormented, but def very different. Funny one. What a sleazy movie. But it’s a fun episode. Creepy drs fiancé gets decapitated so he keeps her head in a pan and looks for a new body at strip clubs. Meanwhile Jan in the pan is kinda sorta communicating with some creature behind a locked door. Creepy dude is just driving down the streets now checking out women. So creepy it’s funny! He ends up at a beauty pageant type thing, basically shopping for a lady body. One of the highest sleaze factors in any movie. He’s settled on a Bettie Page type photography model with a scar on her face. Jan in the pan def reminds me of Vi in Tormented. Both post death evil women. Jan just became inexplicably evil once sans body. But she was engaged to that guy that is totally evil and psycho. Finally the big rubbery coneheaded mutant creature from behind the locked door shows up and kills the psycho doctor while also setting the place on fire. Ignoring Jan, the mutant picks up the would be body donor and wanders away with her. The End. A very good, funny episode. Top tier.
Rewatch . Funny one.  These earlier movies are so fun . They’re oblivious to how bad they are.  This one is so sleazy too, while doc is out body shopping at strip clubs.  Jordanaires riff!  Such a sleazy movie.  He’s found a Scarface lady. Perfect.  She’s a bit like Susan Cabot as Bettie Page.  The main guy reminds me of a psycho Gilligan’s Island professor.  Odd ending. For sure Top Tier.
