Oblivion 2: Backlash 1995, color Rifftrax. The sequel. Whole cast is back plus Cool Rider guy from Grease 2. I’ve watched about half so far, and it’s another pretty fun and funny one. Hard to say why these 2 movies work for riffing when they shouldn’t. They’re meant as comedy, but they don’t have enough self awareness. I mean, they go meta a lot, Sulu makes Trek references ... it’s meant to be funny, it isn’t, so I guess the riffs work because it’s inept in trying to be funny? The acting is bizarre throughout. Still like the hot girl with the bangs and whip. Anyway, seems as silly and generally fun as the first. (The 2 movies were filmed together). Grease 2 guy just turned into some weird horned alien thing. Stupidity of this one is getting to me. WTF?? Did Gamera just show up?? I’m at 1 hour 5 minutes, the whole movie is 1hr15mins and suddenly there’s a giant turtle! Well none of that was explained. There’s just a giant turtle, the end. As good as the first one, I guess. Overall fun, low top tier.
