The Deadly Bees

The Deadly Bees 1966, color, mst905.

Nine minutes in and we have generic 60s UK band! They’re like the British Monkees, but not the Beatles.  The female star, Suzanna Leigh was in the Elvis movie Paradise Hawaiian Style the same year! (Like Anne Helm who did Follow that Dream the same year as Magic Sword) The Elvis movie had better music. Wow, full song.  Nice Fawlty Towers reference I had to look up! Lord Melbury!  The bit about the dog’s meat is pretty funny. Plot is: cute girl from the Elvis movie is a famous singer who has a breakdown and is exhausted. In England. Dr sends her to an island to recuperate.  Small island with farm and bees. Farmers wife is a real bitch. The farmer is also a beekeeper. And there’s a 2nd beekeeper on the island. The farmer with the bitch wife is a real asshole too.  The 2nd beekeeper might be the good guy. This movie, so far, is not bad and kinda engrossing. Or at least, the plot is actually holding my attention, but the riffs are excellent. In many ways, this is exactly what I want in an mst movie—the balance of movie and riffs. Oh shit, bees are killing the dog!  The depressive vibe of this movie is starting the wear on me. Bees killing mean lady now—who was actually not that mean, just married to an asshole.  This bee attack is all about seeing girl in her bra. Weird bowler hat guy pops up at end of movie... ? This was pretty funny. Fairly high in 2nd tier.
